      I’ve been (and still am) exhibiting at a conference of maxillofacial surgeons and dental specialists. I’m in a brief break now. I’ve also been handling incoming enquiries from UK hospitals for urgent cases where surgeons need engineered models to help plan their procedures next week. It’s going to be a busy afternoon and evening of getting the 3D printers going and paperwork complete after I pack down the conference stand! In short, busy!

      Hello Molly,

      It’s been okay so far. I’ve been writing a project idea which I hope I get to try out later in the year with the new Raspberry Pi. After lunch, I might work a bit more on my computational modelling and finish preparing my lecture for a class next week.

      It’s been OK. I have been writing codes for my hand model. My model estimates muscle forces of each finger. Today, I am trying to run it and modify to make it efficient. I also bought a sensor (to collect force exerted by finger) which arrived today. I am going to test my sensor to see if it works.

      My Friday was quite busy.

      It started by marking some student reports on projects looking at a device for understanding materials and another for testing the power output for cyclists.

      For most of the morning I had a training session about using technology in teaching.

      In the afternoon I caught up with some emails and spent some time in the laboratory taking photos of our needle for a publication. There were lots of little jobs like ordering equipment for our research team, getting a compressed air supply to the laboratory fitted and seeing how a colleagues flexible robot was working. It was quite a varied day.
