Being able to work with variety of people is one of the best part of my job. I get to work with patients who suffer from Arthritis and it feels great when I can use my education and knowledge to make a difference in someone’s life.

It sounds a bit cliché but I feel like my position gives me the opportunity to make a positive difference, either by the availability of important systems or by being able to use expertise to affect change quickly and efficiently.

When that expertise has made an outcome better for a patient then it can be very satisfying.

I like solving practical problems. It is really satisfying to be part of a team that has an idea and then does the work to show that the idea is good. Sometimes the solution comes in an instant and sometimes it takes months of trying things, making mistakes and starting again.

Going through this process with the people that I work with is brilliant. Some are experts in computers, some in Mechanical Engineering and some in Electronics. When everybody is able to contribute something different it is really satisfying. Without each other’s expertise there wouldn’t be a solution.

We get along really well too. So I like eating lunch with my colleagues and talking about lots of things not related to work. I also work in a really nice part of London, so that is good too.

There’s a lot I enjoy about the job. It’s a good feeling when I’ve been able to help a student with a problem. I also enjoy working with some really bright and enthusiastic people and I’m grateful for their company.

Being a biomedical engineer and working to help improve other peoples lives is also very satisfying.
