• Question: What subjects did you do at A-level and was this specific to the course you wanted to do at university?

      I did physics, maths and biology. My main reason for doing them was my interest. I was lucky that all the subjects I liked and did during my A-level were specific to the course I wanted to do at university.

      I did Biology, Geography and Maths. I chose these due to them being my strongest subjects and I enjoyed them.

      They weren’t overly relevant (save for the Maths) to my degree subject.

      I did Maths and Mechanics, Design and Technology and Chemistry. To do a Mechanical Engineering degree, I needed the first two. However, I did pick my A-Level subjects without thinking very much about what I wanted to do at university.

      Hi Beth, I did Maths, Physics and Design Technology. All were very specific and relevant to my biomedical engineering course at uni. You need maths and physics to know about engineering concepts. Design technology is useful if you want to model or build something. You don’t need biology for biomedical engineering, although it can be useful. I learnt a lot about biology during my university course instead.
