I would like to encourage more students to study engineering; also encouraging more young female students to consider engineering as a career path.

I’d like to understand the types of questions budding engineers and designers have about engineering. In some cases, it’s those who’re in the earliest stages of engineering/design understanding who ask the most pertinence questions. Answering these can help to educate both parties.

Quite a lot! I have a much better understanding of the type of questions asked by people who are not engineers but are maybe thinking about becoming one, and it’s only been the first day!

I also hope my answers will encourage some people to think of choosing career in engineering, even if it’s not biomedical, there are so many types of engineering to choose from.

It’s very easy to understand what people I meet think about engineering. During the day, most of them are engineers too! It is really interesting to get an idea of what people who aren’t engineers at the moment think. It has made me appreciate this more.

I think I will also be more aware of giving suggestions to people about what subjects to study at school if they want to pursue any career. It has been a long time since I last thought about this. Maybe I never thought about it! I have got an understanding of the kind of decisions that pupils have to make and that they will have an influence on the rest of their lives.
